What You Need to Know

MITTA is the ideal mobility solution for businesses and tourism trips. We offer a wide range of vehicles to suit all tastes and needs. 

What are the rental requirements?

To rent a vehicle, you must be over 22 years old, have a valid local or international driving license, and provide a credit card for guarantee. For more information, read our terms and conditions

Do the vehicles have intercity TAG?

Some highway concessions have implemented the Intercity TAG System. This electronic toll collection system allows you to use a TAG that works at all toll booths on the concessions, making the trip faster, more comfortable, and safer.

On June 11, 2018, the Intercity TAG toll (toll fee) became effective, which will be charged once the rental is finished and up to 60 days after. If the toll was paid by the vehicle user, the corresponding ticket should be presented for a refund.

What is the Intercity TAG, and which roads currently have this charge?

It refers to all tolls outside the city on highways. This Electronic Toll Collection System allows you to use an enabled TAG at all the toll booths of the concessions: Ruta del Pacifico, Autopista Los Libertadores, Ruta del Maipo, and Ruta Costa Arauco, making the trip faster, more comfortable, and safer.

Is the TAG charge an initiative from Autorentas del Pacífico (MITTA)?

No. Some highway concessions have implemented the Intercity TAG System.

Are highways the same as roads?

For this purpose, no. We differentiate them by calling highways the fast urban roads connecting municipalities within the city and roads the intercity highways outside the city.

Does MITTA’s Televía toll collection system include intercity road tolls and replace the current TAG (Televía) charges?

It does not include them. This new toll only applies to intercity road tolls, while the rest remains the same. The toll will be added once the rental ends and may take up to 60 days to process.

What if I paid the toll?

If you paid the toll, you must present the ticket at the counter once the rental ends, and it will be validated and deducted from your road payment.

How do I earn RedPoints?

All individuals making reservations through companies with a Corporate Agreement with MITTA in Chile can participate in the RedPoints Loyalty Program. This exclusive program allows you to accumulate points with each car rental, which can be redeemed for benefits and rewards. Make each trip more valuable with MITTA!

How does the 24-hour assistance service work?

  • In case of mechanical failure or an accident, MITTA offers a 24-hour Roadside Assistance service that you can activate by calling 22 941 89 50.
    • You can also contact our branches to coordinate this service. Phone numbers are available in your rental contract (office hours) or here.
    • Remember that the service is free only in the case of vehicle mechanical failure; any roadside assistance service for other reasons (battery charge, collision, door opening, tire change, etc.) will be at the customer's expense.
    • Una causa frecuente de asistencia es debido a la descarga de baterías producto de dejar las luces prendidas una vez estacionado el vehículo. Recomendamos verificar lo anterior en cada oportunidad, así evitará retrasos y costos innecesarios en su itinerario.
    • A common cause of assistance requests is battery discharge due to leaving the lights on after parking the vehicle. We recommend checking this each time to avoid delays and unnecessary costs on your itinerary.
    • Replacements of damaged units are MITTA’s responsibility and must be coordinated with the counter at the opening of your contract. The transport of replacement units to the customer's location will incur an additional cost.
