Corporate Profile
MITTA, a company of the Mitsui & Co. Group and Autorentas del Pacífico SpA, operates with a business model focused on vehicle mobility services and operational leasing, offering Rent a Car, Operational Leasing, and Renting services. It was established as a result of the partnership between Autorentas del Pacífico, a Chilean company with over 60 years of experience leading the car rental industry (and the Hertz licensee until 2019), and Mitsui & Co., a Japanese multinational company involved in services and investments, with a presence in 66 countries. The board of directors is composed of Ichiro Nambu (President), Kazutaka Shiba (Director), Kotaro Watanabe (Director), Yasuhiko Ijiri (Director), Tomás Eloy Martínez (Director), Marcelo Montalva (Director), and Carla Bernaola (Director).
As part of its history, before becoming MITTA, Autorentas del Pacífico managed the Hertz brand for five decades. This experience, along with a constant drive to innovate processes, has made the company an industry leader. MITTA's passion for service is ingrained in its DNA, and it is committed to designing fast and efficient solutions. The company’s greatest strength is its more than 1,100 employees, who have adapted to the organization’s growth and have been fundamental to its expansion and market leadership.
MITTA currently operates in Chile with a fleet of over 28,000 vehicles across all sectors of the economy: mining, telecommunications, energy, agriculture, construction, aquaculture, forestry industry, food, government entities, and more.
MITTA's mission is to provide the best service through the delivery of innovative and tailored solutions. To achieve this, it relies on a network of branches and technical support, totaling 80 service points from Arica to Tierra del Fuego.
The company has a strong focus on continuous improvement in safety performance, which is reflected in its annual training plan and the work methodology of its leaders. It also maintains important certifications such as ISO 45001, a standard focused on the control of the Management System for Safety and Health at Work.
At the same time, and in line with its sustainability strategy, MITTA holds the active quality and environmental certifications ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, along with the CarbonNeutral® Company certification. In this regard, and as evidence of its commitment to mitigating the effects of its operations, MITTA is developing projects for sustainable photovoltaic energy production, battery recycling, and circular economy projects with companies in the industry. Additionally, in compliance with the Extended Producer Responsibility Law, MITTA manages the recycling of used tires individually. All these actions are based on MITTA's 4 Environmental Pillars:
MITTA is interested in getting involved and supporting the communities where it operates, and for this, it has established ties with municipal entities, with which it develops management plans in this direction.
For MITTA, the relationship with its suppliers and partners, such as vehicle brands, is essential. That’s why it constantly takes actions to establish communication channels that support management with these stakeholders, in addition to forming collaborative partnerships.
Today, MITTA is focusing efforts on enhancing its service offering in Chile, but its vision is set on providing solutions to the new mobility needs of individuals and corporations in the 21st century, across the region.
