The protection of your right to confidentiality remains a primary concern of the company. The practices described herein reflect the current confidentiality and data protection policy of Autorentas del Pacífico SpA. By registering and/or navigating this website, the User consents to the use of their personal data as described in these policies.

The company's core business focuses on vehicle rental services offered through its network of dealerships and subsidiaries.

Types of Data Collected and Sources

The Privacy Policies pertain to certain personal data collected by the company regarding its clients, including but not limited to:

  • Data provided by clients, such as their name, address, employer, phone numbers, email addresses, date and place of birth, driver's license number, passport number, credit card information, frequent flyer affiliations, or other membership details.
  • Information about transactions with the company, subsidiaries, or others, such as vehicle pick-up/drop-off locations, dates, and times, airline names, and rental expenses.
  • Information received from consumer reporting agencies, including creditworthiness and credit history.

Our sources for collecting personal data include websites managed by the company or third parties, through which rental reservations with the company or its dealerships can be made, telephone calls to our reservation and assistance centers, registration forms for MITTA vehicle rental programs, and other similar channels. Additionally, we collect and verify personal data about our clients through other companies with which we maintain business relationships or by consulting public entities, specialized companies, or credit bureaus, for which we are expressly authorized. Any information obtained from these entities will be treated confidentially by the company.

Sensitive client data, as defined in Article 2(g) of Law No. 19,628 on Privacy Protection, is not subject to processing. Notwithstanding this, and as established by the regulations, health-related information may eventually be requested for service provision. The company does not disclose sensitive data to subsidiaries or business partners, except in cases authorized by the regulations.

4 - Use of "Cookies" and Other Tracking Technologies

Types of Data Collected and Sources

The company and its agents use cookies to track users and customers, as well as to facilitate the use of services offered through its websites or HTML-format commercial emails.

The company stores cookies to provide a more interactive experience on its website and facilitate the use of services it offers to customers, based on user actions. The user can, at any time, delete stored cookies, configure the browser to request approval before storing cookies, or directly prevent cookies from being stored.

5 - Data Retention

The company retains its clients' and users' personal data for the time allowed by the country's legislation. Currently, most of this data is stored in Santiago, Chile.

Users can, at any time, revoke their authorization for the use of personal data, and they will always have the rights of clarification, correction, cancellation, and opposition, as well as all other rights granted by Law No. 19,628 on Privacy Protection. Similarly, the user can always request the suspension of promotional or advertising communications, in accordance with Article 28 B of Law No. 19,496 on Consumer Rights Protection. 6 - Data Security

The company strictly complies with all applicable regulations regarding security measures for personal information, using physical, electronic, and methodological protection mechanisms to protect personal data and prevent loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

Access to clients' personal data is restricted to employees who need to know this information to provide the requested services. Additionally, any misuse of personal data by employees of the company results in disciplinary measures. The company is not responsible for illegal interceptions or breaches of its systems or databases by unauthorized individuals, nor for the improper use of information obtained through these means.

Please remember that to effectively protect your personal data, we also require your help and responsibility. Keep your personal identification number ("PIN") or password secret and be cautious when communicating your identification number for MITTA programs. Note that if you share your membership number with third parties, they will not be subject to the rules outlined in this Privacy Policy, and you risk the data being used for illegitimate purposes or compromising the security of your account.

We have an SSL certificate (Secure Sockets Layer), which is a digital certificate that authenticates the identity of our website and encrypts with SSL technology the information sent to the server. Encryption is the process of mixing data into an unreadable format that can only be returned to the readable format with the appropriate decryption key. The certificate ensures that when an internet user attempts to send credential information to a web server, the user's browser accesses the server's digital certificate and establishes a secure connection, thus safeguarding all information exchanged here. The features of this certificate are: Green lock "secure" for all subdomains, sha256 / ecc encryption, compatible with Chrome / Mozilla / Explorer / Edge / Safari, security seal, trust logo.

7 - Use of Data

The company does not disclose your data to third parties. Personal data is only collected if you provide it to us through registration, filling out forms, phone calls, or emails, as part of a reservation, request, or purchase of products or services, inquiries regarding materials ordered, and similar situations where you choose to provide the information.

The database and its contents remain with the company and are stored on its data processors or servers, which act on their own and are responsible to it. Your personal data is not provided for third-party use in any form unless with your consent, an official order to do so, or for legitimate uses as stated below.

We will maintain control and responsibility for the use of any personal information you provide.

Once registered on our site, the company will not sell, rent, or share personal information except in the forms outlined in these policies and as established by Chilean law. The company will do everything in its power to protect the privacy of the information; however, it may be compelled to disclose information to authorities or third parties under certain circumstances due to judicial orders or legal regulations. In such cases, the company is not responsible for any information that is disclosed.

Uses of Type I

By making a rental reservation or using the company’s rental services or those of its dealers, you agree that your personal data may be used and disclosed for Type I purposes. If you do not wish to consent to such use and disclosure of your personal data, we ask that you refrain from making rental reservations or using the company's services or those of its dealers.

  • Initial Uses: Your personal data may be used to process the rental reservations you make with the company and its dealers, to process rental transactions, to offer you enhanced rental services, and to bill and collect any amounts you owe.
  • Protection Uses: Your personal data may be used and disclosed if there are legitimate reasons to believe it is necessary to protect the company, comply with applicable law, protect your rights, privacy, security, or property (as well as those of others), and to enable the company to implement legal solutions or limit potential damage.
  • Disclosure to Agents: Your personal data may be disclosed to any natural or legal person that the company hires to assist with its business activities, with the commitment to comply with the instructions and Privacy Policies.
  • Disclosure to Program Sponsors: A customer discount program, or "CDP", is a contract or program established by the company along with a sponsoring company or organization (“the sponsor”), where users or individuals meeting certain requirements are entitled to book rentals with conditions different from those generally offered to the public. In such cases, the user implicitly agrees to the disclosure of their personal data to the sponsor.

If you do not wish your personal data to be disclosed as described here, you should not participate in the customer discount program, even if it means missing out on the benefits of this program.

  • Disclosure to Affiliates: Your personal data may be exchanged between the company's members and disclosed to affiliates to carry out the functions mentioned above. In these cases, we will require compliance with the relevant provisions of the Personal Data Protection Privacy Policy (including rights you may exercise to limit the use of your data), as well as relevant legal regulations.

Uses of Type II

You may instruct us not to disclose your personal data, obtained from using our rental services, to companies that are not affiliated or dealers of our company for their own promotional purposes.

Any modifications made by the user to limit the use of their data will take effect once requested. Therefore, the company will not be held responsible for the use of data prior to the instructions taking effect, unless they are in line with the terms set in the Privacy Policy.

The company will not use your personal data for non-promotional purposes unless authorized by applicable legislation. All Type I uses of your personal data, as described in the Privacy Policy, constitute authorized uses.

9 - Rights to Access, Cancellation, and Rectification of Personal Information

Users have the right to access, cancel, and update their Personal Information, as well as to object to its processing and be informed of any transfers made, in accordance with Law No. 19.628 on Privacy Protection and other relevant regulations. Users guarantee and are responsible for the veracity, accuracy, validity, and authenticity of the personal information provided and undertake to keep it updated.
